Short description: R:Base 3.1 has some advanced memory-management features that seem to clash with DESQview (I tried up to V2.32). In particular, when leaving a subprogram of R:Base like Browse, I am chucked out of R:Base altogether. Worse still, DESQview is then totally confused about memory: Memory Status reports more Total Available and Largest Available than the amount shown under Total Memory ! Not suprisingly, trying to do anything else results in a system crash, and often even the CMOS setups are screwed up on restart. I asked the local reps of both Microrim (R:Base's proud parents) and Quarterdeck, but nothing useful came from the former and nothing from the latter. Before I go into laboriously documenting everything pertaining to my system: (a) did anybody else have such a problem, (b) if yes, have you found a solution, and (c) can anyone suggest the optimal DV setup for R:Base 3.1. Thanks for your help.
