Elvira has very nice graphics and sound. It is a "horror adventure" -- if you are put off by having your character get decapitated (for instance), you will not like this game. Elvira's story line is a little thin (compared to, say, Bane of the Cosmic Forge). It is mostly hack & slash with some simple puzzle solving. It will load on a hard disk drive. Combat is semi-real-time (you must anticipate which way to block blows). If great graphics & sound are important to you, Elvira has them. The game mechanics are reasonable, the CRPG aspects have some interesting innovations (you must collect herbs, etc... to mix up spells), and the plot line is fairly reasonable. It isn't one of my favorite RPGs, but it's not awful either.
