Oops. Peter said what I meant. Such is the effect of typing about 1000 times slower than we think >>One big gripe I have is that GadTools dont support GREL positioning.... > It's a pretty common enhancement request. There were some reasons > why it was tricky, and so it didn't make it in. My general impression of GadTools is that as they stand now they are just plain not happy with things changing underneath them, and that includes position with GREL stuff. Are there any plans for a future release of GadTools using BOOPSI (as mentioned briefly in the DevCon notes), which would help a lot, and potentially make GadTools smaller. Also, since GadTools *doesnt* use BOOPSI, how much *other* 2.0 dependancy is there. Ie: How far would GadTools (and asl.library) be from standing on their own under 1.3. I ask because, as most of us writing software feel, its a major waste of effort to duplicate GadTools functionality (but potential suicide not to support it) for 1.3, yet with Commodore dragging their feet on 2.0 general release, its a tough marketing decision to say "2.0 only". I understand the desire to put out a stable working product, but we're rapidly coming up on a year of 2.0 to the "public" in the form of the 3000s, yet still no firm date on release to the "masses". > Peter Cherna, Operating Systems Development Group, Commodore-Amiga, Inc. P.S. I think I share the opinion of most of us when I say "Hurrah" to the help from and patience of all those various employees of Commodore who take the time to pay attention. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mark Gooderum Only... \ Good Cheer !!!
