The card I am considering is called 8514 AX2 The card is manufactured by Trident and has Tseng ET4000AX chips. My question: What does the AX in ET4000AX stand for? Is it a special 8514 compatible version of ET4000? Or is it the same chipset as in other Super VGA cards like Orchid Prodesigner II? The card has a FIFO and a cache. That sounds real advanced, but is it? Or do all other SUper VGA cards based on Tseng have those too? The reason why I ask is that 8514 is 5 times faster than an ordinary Super VGA when doing Bitblit. The name of the Trident card suggests that it is a 8514 compatible card. But is it? And if so, does it provide the same speed? If you know an answer to these questions, please let me know, Thanks in advance, Bram Stolk /--------------------------------------------------------------\ | As a finishing touch, God created the Dutch. | |______________________________________________________________| | | | East, West, Intel Best - S.Sinnige | \______________________________________________________________/ stolk@fwi.uva.nl
