Several reasons, the most relevant to the person out on the net is that the MTS systems don't have heirarchial directories. Instead, try our new archive site, mac.archive.umich.edu (there is also an msdos.archive.umich.edu if you're interested). This one's on a unix system, so you get a directory structure (which is nice when there are several hundred files out there). For now anyway, the IP address for this site (mac.archive and msdos.archive are actually the same machine) is 141.211.165.34 The only thing I'll note is that the mac archive is still undergoing the final touches, so if you find something in one place one time and it's not there when you go back, look around. Send comments on the archive to dauter@mac.archive.umich.edu. When you get in (login anonymous, pw yourrmailname), cd to archive. enjoy...danno dan pritts Mac/DOS/MTS/NeXT Consultant, UM ITD danno@um.cc.umich.edu danno@UMICHUB
