hi,

i've noticed that accessing the control panel seems much slower than in the
past on my ii cx.  it typically takes in the neighborhood of 10-15 secs!!!
this is much longer than that of the other cx in my office ( << 3 seconds).
i'm running system 6.0.7 with 5 MB on the motherboard.  while waiting for the
control panel to come up, i notice a lot of hard disk activity.  what's causing
the delay and how can i minimize this??  
(i've tried rebuilding the desktop and optimizing the 80 meg hard disk, but
this doesn't seem to help)
