However, something you might try first is using Silverlining (off of a bootable floppy of course) to reinstall the hard disk driver software. This would only be necessary if you couldn't read the hard drive, but since you can, use your system tools disk set to reload the system useing the custom install option and then the system software for SE. This will get you back to booting from the hard drive. BTW, you did wipeout some of the System when you shut off in the middle of a reboot.
