I have been successfully SLIPping for a few months now, but I wanted to try something new. Since the DECstation 3100 cannot function at 19,200 baud, I decided to use tcpcon and tcpserv in order to connect my modem to an IRIS and pipe the output to a PTY on the decstation. Everything works fine, and I can "tip" to the modem and login places, etc. However, when I attempt to run slattach, it tries to attach to "sl7" instead of "sl0", and, of course, that is not configured into the kernel. Any idea why the TIOCGETD is returning 7 instead of 0 in the case of a PTY as opposed to a TTY? #Ron (ronnie@sos.com)
