I talked to a vendor of an object-oriented tool about DDE yesterday,
and they said that they were not expecting 3.1 to be released until
November (optimistically) and thought it might realistically take as
long as 1st quarter '92.  One of the reasons cited for the delay was
the difficulty in building a "standard DDE interface", which is
supposed to be a feature of 3.1. I have no idea how accurate any of
this is.
