xloadimage normally works fine for my color Sparc2.... until AFTER I run
applications that change the background color map. (ie xmartin)  Then when I
try to display an xloadimage gif with 256 colors the color map does not change
when I move the cursor into the xloadimage window.  (the xloadimage window
is a blur of incorrect colors)

I tried "xloadimage -install filename.gif"   and the color map changes 
for just an instant as I cross the boarder of the window. It just flashes and
I can barely make out that it's trying the color map change.

I have to completely exit X11R4, and rerun the server, before xloadimage is 
again able to change the color map via the cursor position.
