It depends on what you call the 'truth' if the 'devil' is separated from the Diety, then the 'devil' is not part of the truth, since the Diety is defined as 'the truth'. The 'devil' is not prohibited from speaking 'the truth' or about the 'the truth' only being 'one with the truth'. As for your example it does nothing to indicate that the serpent told anything but the truth.
