From a probably erroneous reading of this posting it looks as though you are suggesting daily FTPing of the new stuff from GenBank. The USENET distribution was aimed at avoiding this by allowing GenBank to send it all out just ONCE (via USENET), and then have people pick it up from the local USENET delivery.
