So your comparison here is more like a $30,000 386 box vs. an $80,000 Sun box. Let's compare apples and apples, though, with a 386 NFS server: The Box $1,500 Memory, 8mb 1,000 Two 330M disks 2,500 & controller SCO Unix 600 SCO TCP/IP 450 SCO NFS 400 ------ $6,450 A wee bit less pricey than the $80,000 Sun system, and even a bit less pricey than the $17.5K Novell charges for 3.11 plus NFS. My TCP/IP subnet is likely to grow by leaps and bounds for every small increment our Novell network grows, if this price disparity continues. Call me a Unix bigot, if you must, but recall I'm also doing my part to help those of us who must continue dealing with DOS. -rich
