Actually yes, there is a problem in 8.2(1) fixed in 8.2(3) that might
cause exactly the behavoiur that you are seeing. Is is caused by
checking addresses a little to restrictively. As a result valid
packets would not get though. If you see a number of "multicasts" in 
the "show xns traffic" then you are probebly seeing this problem.

If you do, you should upgrade to 8.2(3).

I'll let you know how I do with reproducing the problem here.
