I, too, feel it would have been appropriate for you to bounce the note back to Randy with a "Are you absolutely sure you want to do this?" message. In my view, one of the reasons you moderate ought to be to help protect us from doing anything really stupid. This was, on Randy's part. He'll probably get canned. I'm not at all saying it's your fault; it's his. But we all do something really stupid at some time in our lives, and if someone is in a position to ask "Are you really sure you want to do it?" I think it appropriate.
