The corona wire inside the cartridge is dirty. Use the tail end of the little brush to clean it. Complete instructions are in the booklet that is packed with each cartridge. This will work for a while, then the line will come back again. Clean the corona wire again to get rid of it again. Eventually, when you put in a new cartridge, the problem will go away. If you reuse cartridges, don't just refill it, have it remanufactured. The remanufacturing process puts in a new corona wire while the refill process doesn't. It's also a good idea to clean the whole inside of the printer when you change cartridges.
