I can't find anyway to use them on com1r without hanging at boot time. I've got things to work at least with the following: # initialize ... sleep 3 > /dev/com1l & stty 2400 > /dev/com1l echo 'ATS0=1' > /dev/com1l echo 'AT&C1' > /dev/com1l With that modeminit instead of the one in the release notes my system will actually boot and even give me a login prompt, but... right before it gives me the prompt it says: /etc/init: cannot open /dev/com1r Why is coherent being so gosh darn disagreeable about initializing my modem. (by the way, that setup that gives me that little error does at least answer when I call (don't know about from another machine yet though; i'll have to find someone else with a modem for that)) Thanks again, Todd "is it a bug or just me" Ruth truth@ucsd.edu
