I have:

386-25 PC
ESDI Adapter w/ HD
Adaptec 1542B
Archive 2150 Tape Drive
MS-DOS 3.3

My simple objective is:

Using the setup mentioned above, I want to use the tape drive to backup
my system using MKS tar. The manuals I got with the adaptec only talk
about disk drives, and not tape drives.  

What am I missing? Any ideas?
