The current anti-aliased fonts are fine for WYSIWIG applications - just what you need - but less useful for plain text manipulation. Purpose designed screen fonts (as found under X windows et al) would be much clearer for ascii text bashing. The characters are *designed* to fit the coarse pixel grids found on VDU's.
