Much against my better judgement I'd been including binaries with the sources -- and it seems I've accidentally been compiling with a version of the compiler I had from Acorn to beta test instead of the release version. This show up the idiocy of Acorn's method of implementing run-time linking in my book, but that's small compared to the idiocy of me not testing properly :-) In future if I supply binaries at all, I'll link with Ansilib so that there's no chance of software rot setting in. I encourage other posters to the net/ archive to do the same. Even better, just post sources. Graham PS I'll notify everyone when I update Newcastle with fixed versions; thanks to everyone who supplied patches.
