Message-ID: <4c=R=Y600Vp3E2Flhy@andrew.cmu.edu> Date: 12 May 91 23:42:28 GMT Organization: Class of '92, Carnegie Mellon, Pittsburgh, PA Lines: 33 I seem to have come across what I feel is a bug in the control panel or in one of the tools it uses. From the testing I've done, if there are up to 35 files in the CDEVS folder, there are no problems. If there are 38 or more, the control panel says there are no CDEVS in the folder and won't open. Note that it is the number of FILES in the directory and NOT the number of CDEVS which seems to cause this strange behavior. BTW, I was using SS 5.0.4 with NO inits, no desk.accs (other than CP NDA) and starting with just the General CP activated (still got the error until I deleted 3 files - thats why I am unsure where between 35 and 38 the limit is). ^ text Also no special drivers were installed. The system was clean. Any idea of why this happened? Can anyone else repeat this? I have a ROM 01 GS with 4.25 megs, an Audio Animator in slot 1 and a RAMFast in slot 7. Note, I have noticed this before with no AA, no RF and only a REV C card (and only 1.75 M of memory in a ROM 1). Brendan G.
