I have exhausted my metal capacity and I need your wisdom to guide me over the following hump. About couple months ago I posted a distress query complaining on difficulty porting software to 3b2 from the Sun environment. I received quite many helpful and encouraging responses (thanks !) and almost all expressed had little or no trouble at all. At first I was convinced I had pointer bugs in my code, (it filled with circular-doubly-linked lists to lists and string processing...) since the code would core dump as soon as I added some printf statements. (This sounds familiar right. Yeah pointer problems. Gotta be!) Meanwhile I had the code working on my Esix (Unix SV Rel.3.2.D) reliably at home. Strange I said to myself. end part I.
