Subject: SCSI controller for 11/23?

I inherited an 11/23 system from a local project with no docs on one
of the subsystems. The system has 2 ST-506 type hard drives with an
Adaptec ST-506 to SCSI adapter card. The Adaptec card is connected to
a card in the 11/23. This card has the logo DTC imprinted on it with the
following numbers:
FAB 007-00003
ASSY 007 -00002
REV 02 S/N 200861

What I would like to know is what this board looks like to the 11/23. Does it
emulate an RL02 or some other disk? I do not know if the disk drives have a
boot block on not. 
The 11/23 monitor doesn't seem to recognize any boot options such as DL,DP
etc.
