In our office, we have several 386SX computers, and Macs (all of the luggable variety). I was wondering what would be the easiest way to allow them all to share the same Postscript Printer. This printer has a Parallel Port, a Serial Port, and an Appletalk port. It does not allow the simultaneous input of data from all ports at the same time, like some printers do, so we have to always go to the printer and switch it between Appletalk for the Macs, and Parallel for the IBMs. There must be an easier way to somehow get all the Macs and IBMs talking to each other, so that we need only use just one of the ports on the printer. Any solutions out there? BTW file sharing would be a plus, but is not essential in solving the problem......is there such a thing as a external smart switch for printers that will allow input from both AppleTalk and Parallel sources at the same time? Thanks in advance......
