7.0 blurbs I have seen state that Get Info comments are now permanent. 

 In my experience rebuilding the desktop, they get blown away on a IIci, with
 Apple Quantum drive, driver updated, but NOT reformatted, and on an SE with
 Ehman drive and driver.

 Bug? Feature? Seems stange that the comments would be so transient,
 considering that Find... can search on them.
