Beaverton, Or. Lines: 12 Let's end the guessing about "what is the 486SX". It's been in the press. The i486SX is NOT a 16-bit version of the i486. It is, simply put, an i486 with the FPU disabled. If you buy a 486SX box, it will contain a socket for an i487. The i487 is just a full-scale i486.
