Sorry, I missed the first post.  Why not buy a tv sound reciever?  Radio
Shack has sold them for years.  Many of the people I know have used them 
to make their mono TV's stereo without having to buy the latest sets.  It 
has to be cheaper than a "TV without a picture" .
