I also know blind people who are experienced in guide dog usage who have trained their own dogs--that's okay. There are many blind folks who cannot get up and go to a school for months due to some circumstances that they have--but want a dog. I think the schools should be more open to home training--even with first dogs--because of special circumstances. There is room for the schools and for private training.
