I have personal experience with two of the brands you mention. My experience with Linn electronics was such that I will never buy their products again. If you like high price, snob appeal, shoddy reliability, and noise, Linn electronics has lots to offer. My ARC (Audio Research) amplifier was less reliable and noisier than I expected when I bought it 9 years ago. After a couple of trips back to the factory, it came back quieter than it was out of the box and it still sounds good. Good luck with your search.
