Really haven't had a chance to "go" turkey hunting as Little League baseball seems to schedule my son's games on Saturdays... So I had to settle with walking behind the house. Oh well.... The season opened Saturday, April 13th and so did the heavens. Heard one gobble about 7:30.....I guess he was as wet as I was. 16th - Didn't hear a thing. 17th - Heard three gobble on the river bottom.. they started gobbling about 6:07. Heard one shot down there about 7:15. 18th - Didn't hear a thing. 23rd - Didn't hear a thing. 25th - Flushed one off the roost in some pines. Heard two gobble about 7:30. Called in one hen....or she was just passing by. May 1st - Flushed two off the roost.....had a jake fly to me..didn't shoot. 4th - Called in two for Ricky....thought he'd gone to sleep...I had my finger curled around the trigger when his gun went off(7:00 AM). It was his first spring bird. He was excited. 7th - Didn't hear a thing. We heard one land near us, but didn't see anything. 8th - Didn't hear a thing. The season ends on the 18th. Hope to have something worth posting... Bobby
