Hi there everyone,

This is quite possibly a very commonly asked question, so I'm sorry if my
ignorance is showing. Here goes. Does anyone have, or know where one could
get info concerning how the Lempel-Ziv compression algorithm works? Is it
proprietary? My roommate is writing some code wherein he needs to know how
to extract data archived in Lempel-Ziv. (He'll probably also need to archive
things into Lempel-Ziv, I'm not utterly sure.) Either e-mail or post to
the group, I'm easy! 8)Thanks in advance for any help that can be sent my
way...
