Typing either Esc x auto-fill-mode or M-x auto-fill-mode (where 'M' is your meta key) turns on auto-fill-mode (word wrap) as a minor mode modifying the current major mode in GNU Emacs, UniPress Emacs, Epsilon, AND Freemacs.
