Certainly I never posted an intro. Time to rectify... Hello Peter, Michael, Bob. I'm Brad Rodriguez, and I live northwest of Toronto. I do freelance hardware and software design for embedded systems. I work mainly in assembler and (whenever I can) Forth; although I know C, I've somehow managed to avoid professional work in it. My latest hardware project is a parallel-processing system using ten Zilog Super8s...how's that for weirdness? I've used Forth since around '78, but only got active in the greater Forth community four years ago. (First you attend a conference. Then you present a paper at one. Before long you're writing for various journals and wishing you were being paid for it.) These days I only work part-time, as I am pursuing a PhD in Electrical Engineering at McMaster University. * * * Peter, I also have the dubious honor of being our local FIG chapter's librarian. We have about 10 megabytes of public domain and shareware Forth software in our library -- including several PC Forths -- much of it downloaded from GEnie. I'll be happy to send you a copy of our library directory if you wish; you can save yourself the cost of a download if we already have it in the library. I invite you to attend one of our local FIG chapter meetings. The Southern Ontario chapter meets the first Saturday of December, March, and June, and the second Saturday of September, at McMaster University in Hamilton. Usually in room 417 of the General Sciences Building; call Dr. Nick Solntseff at (416) 525-9140 x3443 for details. Special note: the upcoming June meeting has been moved back two weeks, to June 15th. - Brad Brad Rodriguez | brad%candice@maccs.uucp (God willing) B.RODRIGUEZ2 on GEnie | brad%candice@maccs.dcss.mcmaster.ca "Shoes for industry!" | bradford@maccs.dcss.mcmaster.ca (archaic) ----- This message came from GEnie via willett.
