I'm looking for sound generation hardware with a standard
interface (RS232, SCSI, VME, ...) for use on a variety of Unix graphics
workstation platforms (DECstation, SPARCstation, Aviion, ....).
Preferably there are device drivers or other interface software included.

A midi interface would be ok but, for some platforms, an RS232-midi
converter would be required.

I'm interested in what is available for less than $500/single.
