Message-ID: <1495@nih-csl.nih.gov> Date: 16 May 91 00:09:44 GMT Sender: news@nih-csl.nih.gov Organization: National Institutes of Health, Bethesda Lines: 28 > Of course, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt. Your post sounds > like you're another "Unix puke", and if I had half a mind (and my morning > cup of coffee), I'd nuke you, like I did the last guy who tried to invade. And you probably would have spent the rest of the day with a smug expression on your face, oblivious to the embarrassed stares of your management and co-workers. Larry, you post messages (like the one I read in the same news-feed with bitmap-accessing source code) that indicates that you are an intelligent individual, but it just doesn't make up for posts like the above. Has it slipped past you that you posted this message on what is primarily a Unix newsfeed? Just whom is "invading" whom in that situation? The company you work for (and advertise that fact in your .sig banner) is pulling out all the stops in a desperate attempt to make the upcoming OS/2 2.0 acceptable to the business community that has to date spurned their earlier attempts. IMHO, OS/2 2.0 has a shot (a long shot, but a shot) at doing so. People with your attitude aren't helping matters any. > Additionally, I have a reputation for being obnoxious... Adding that statement to your signature may qualify as an apology, but not as an excuse. Bert Tyler bert@helix.nih.gov
