Did you listen to the explanations of *why* the NeXT can't do animation? It's got nothing to do with the blitter. There are two reasons: 1) No way to do page-flipping. You have to bash all the bits in each scene into place on the display. Double-buffering is vital to animation. 2) Mach is not real-time.
