Did you know that when PRODIGY asks you for some information (when buying stuff or whenever), the more information you give them the more money they make off it and the more worse the environment becomes. What they do is place you into a category of buyers. They have certain classifications (some downright awnry names for them) for certain buyers. Then what they do is sell your address, name, and preferences off to companies that are interested in sending you junk mail. So you see, it is more of a service to them than it is to you. They also probably sell this information to LOTUS (who, I think, just released a CD-ROM containing 96,000 addresses of the highest income people in the US [I think that number was actually 9,600,000]). I'm against JUNK-MAIL now. I think COMPUTER SHOPPER and other whopping large magazines need to either cut down on paper or use less coloring in their magazines [like maybe color on the front and back). ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Isn't it interesting how I can talk about environmental issues and live in Los Alamos (Home of the ATOMIC BOMB!). I guess it is becuase I live 37 miles from Santa Fe (home of the New Age crud, where you can find mental surgery under the same advertisement area as the Great Hot Tamale Bar and Grill restraunt [made up name]).
