However, this can mask a more subtle problem -- there really should be only one Apple menu per desktop. It's a special menu, and I've seen people really really confused by WriteIt!, which has the Apple menu in the DA window. They wanted to know what the difference was between the two menus, and why was one one color, and what happened to DAs they opened with the WriteIt! menu when they closed WriteIt!, and why they needed two of them. The answer to the last one is "You don't need two of them." CK just put it in to see if it was possible, and he left it in because he didn't want to take it out.
