I have done this between two HP workstations by simply invoking the X server on the display system with "/usr/bin/X11/X :0 -query ". This uses the xdmcp protocol and makes the display system act simply as an X terminal for the remote system. If your DECStation supports xdmcp you may be able to do something similar. Brian Cripe
