Like I said, I only tried it briefly, since it behaved so poorly. I don't think it would be revealing for me to list hardware, software, and INITs at this point. As with Eric, ALL other TCP/IP programs work fine. If I get a chance to test it some more on different Macs with different hard/software, I will post a summary. I think it much more like- ly that it is something with our local networks.... Well, heck here are some things.... LocalTalk. GatorBox. MacTCP. NCSA tel- net. tn3270. HyperFTP. Netnews Reader. TheNews. MacX. Liaison. Have all those things and they work fine. Current system software (for a few hours ;-)), am wise in the ways of INITs and config.tels and such like.... There is overwhelming evidence that there is something wrong with (just) XferIt. I suspect it has something to do with our VERY crufty, VERY slow LocalTalk net. Anyone ELSE with this problem? Like I and Eric said, XferIt looks great; I'd like to use it...!
