But there is a Beta version available with some |bugs. System 7 is currently being internationalized/localized on a country-by-country basis. In other words, Apple France is busy translating everything into France style, and Apple UK (whatever they're really called) is localizing for the UK. This will take different amounts of time for different countries, unsurprisingly. The first to be done should be the British English version (no big surprise there) on June 15. That includes the time to get a whole pile of upgrade kits ready, and the manuals, and get some form of support (sorry, no clue what form) ready too. Obviously, some versions will take a long time (ie. Farsi or Mandarin Chinese) and therefore won't be available very soon. But most of Europe should have System 7 in August. This is the prediction, anyway. It's unfortunate that many Europeans would love to use a USA version, but it isn't being shipped there. I'd take it up with your country's Apple subsidiary. Maybe they'll do that different next time, if people ask. bill coderre
