I found this roaming the disks of a bulletin board near by... ------------------------------------------------------------- Why Apple Picked May 13, 1991 to Release System 7 by Christopher Yavelow Apple picked the May 13, 1991 release date for System Seven very carefully. In fact, the following calculations prove that Apple had this date in mind way back in 1984. Look at the date May 13, 1991 and recall its numeric form: 5 - 13 - 1991. Why the 13th... Of course there is the obvious: 7 squared = 49 AND 4 + 9 = 13 !!!!!!! But there is more! Consider 5 + 1 + 3 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 1 = 29 (AND 2 + 9 = 11, another lucky number) NOTICE: 9 - 2 = 7 !!!!!!! The numbers TWO and NINE are important in four other ways: The Macintosh was introduced on January 24, 1984, in other words 1/24/1984. You guessed it! 1 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 8 + 4 = 29 !!!!!!! Once again, 9 - 2 = 7 AND consider this: 5 + 13 + 1991 = 2009 I remind you, 9 - 2 = 7 take the Mac's birthday again: 1/24/1984 It is no surprize that 1 + 2 4 + 1984 = 2009 as well. Don't forget, 9 - 2 = 7 ALSO: 2009 divided by 7 squared = 41 (System 7 for one - meaning: for unity !!!!!!!). ALSO: In the year 2009, the Mac will be 1/4 century old !!!!!!! (reversal of '4' and '1'). Finally, count up the letters in the words: "Macintosh System Seven Point Zero" -> -> -> -> -> -> -> 29 letters !!!!!!! Additionally, Apple is trying to deal with the "Good vs. Evil" dichotomy: FACT: Many people think that 7 is a lucky number and 13 is an unlucky number! Better yet, note that the Macintosh will be 2,666 days old on May 13, 1991. FACT: Many people compare System 7's introduction to that of OS/2. By releasing System 7 on the 2,666th day of Macintosh history, Apple may be hinting that OS/2 is connected with 666 (the number of the devil), AND that System 7 will save us from this (the Good vs. Evil thing again) !!!! Also, the Mac will be 88 months old... NOTICE: 8 + 8 = 16 AND 1 + 6 = 7 IMPORTANT: January 1, 1904 (the date your Mac defaults to when you pull out the battery). 5/13/1991 is exactly 2,756,937,600 seconds after 1/1/1904 Consider that the Cosine of this number: COS ( 2,756,937,600 ) = .513 etc. NOTICE: the "COS" (Coming Of Seven) of 2,756,937,600 commences with 513 !!!! Finally, just in case you aren't convinced yet: May 13th is the 133rd day of the year and 1 + 3 + 3 = 7 ________________________________________________________________________ COINCIDENCE OR CAREFUL MARKETING DEPARTMENT NUMEROLOGY ?
