I asked a question about the "Timer" program a few weeks ago.  One of the many
responses was from Peter Hickman who graciously agreed to send me his own
version of all the source code from the book "Macintosh Programming Primer,
Vol.1" by Mark and Reed.  Since he is in the UK, I will redistribute it to
anyone on this side of the pond.

BTW, the solution to the problem was to replace the calls to GetMHandle with
GetMenu.  The GetMHandle calls returned null pointers, except for the Apple
menu call which worked fine.
