Thanks. I work with a university micro store (with them, not for them). With the advent of system 7.0, the size of the system has become a lot larger and having people come in off the streets to copy disks is not as practical. We've also found problems with people coming in to copy system software, and "just happen" to pick up copies of commercial software that is also on our Macs (there for demonstration purposes). This will not do. So our plan for 7.0 is that we will have some students who work for us do the copies of the floppies. We'll sell those for a buck per disk, or something like that, so it won't cost the user much more than buying blank floppies. The objective is not to make a buck, it's to solve the hassles of lots of people showing up and expecting immediate access to a Mac just to make copies of the system software. So, I can't speak for your dealer, but it sounds like they might be up to something similar. If you absolutely must have it today, you have to buy the package from Apple. If you can wait a few days you should be able to get copies of the floppies for a minimal cost. - - - - - - - - - - Garance Alistair Drosehn = gad@rpi.edu or gad@eclipse.its.rpi.edu ITS Systems Programmer (handles NeXT-type mail) Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; Troy NY USA
