Yeah, I think Apple's doing a pretty good job with this, though some of their dealers could be doing better. The local dealers I've called in town here have said "We can sell you the upgrade package by the end of the week, but it's not our policy to let people copy disks on our equipment," which is pretty reasonable. I'm somewhat more upset by our university micro lab which (a) is not going to let us copy system 7 to our own disks and (b) is not going to be selling disks which they've pre-copied for at least two weeks. Time to take a weekend off and go visit my friendly dealer at home. :) I can wait for a few days, though I'm glad that Apple did put the compatibility checker stack on ftp.apple.com Sunday night so that I could get a head start at trying to get upgrades for my software (not that most of the companies I called had anyone who seemed to know what was going on...).
