It's not "from Apple", it's from a guy named Bill who works there and is posting ON HIS OWN TIME. Lighten up just a little bit, OK? And I don't know where you've been, but the responses of Apple people on Usenet are invaluable and much more frequent than those of most other companies. I suspect that the simple and obvious reason System 7 isn't in more places just yet is that it was released practically the instant it was finished, not after weeks of priming the distribution channel.
