Message-ID: <9105141512.AA02002@centr00.CENTRCN.UMontreal.CA> Date: 14 May 91 15:12:55 GMT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The Internet Lines: 25 One of my servers (a 280s running 3.3.2) has loged a bunch of strange messages in the SYSLOG. It seems that the logical volume device driver encounters a read error and then performs a mysterious (to me) action. The message is : May 14 02:42:21 physs1 unix: WARNING: chunkread: bad read ip 800F0920 off 9674752 May 14 02:42:22 physs1 unix: lv device 0: Extent list trashed, inode 27159 May 14 02:42:22 physs1 unix: And there is no log from the SMD-DISK drivers, so it must not be a disk problem... Its the second time in a month that this happens. Is it dangerous? Should I do something about it? -- +---------------------------------------------------------+ | Luc Chouinard Computer Center | | System Administrator University of Montreal | +---------------------------------------------------------+
