Is there any way to format a non pre-formatted tape on
AIX PS2?

I have 3M dc2120 mini data cartridge tapes. Apparently the
recommended use for this drive is
3M dc2120 rhomat mini data cartridge tapes which are a 
pre-formatted tape.

Is there any way to format the tapes I have bought that are nont
rhomat tapes?
