Why? I call it a bug. I think I remember SCO kinda documenting it and saying "don't do that". You don't have to reboot though. What I do (it sure is tempting to switch to another screen while waiting isn't it?) is log on via a serial port and kill vpix with 'kill -1 PS_ID' where PS_ID is obtained with 'ps -ae'. -- joe@proto.com
