I am planning on taking some instruction and doing my first
dive this year.  I would like to do it this December (I 
turn 30 that month; seems appropriate ;-).  Does the 
diving season in Northern California last that long?  Are
there seasons?  Recomendations for places to learn the basics
near the Bay Area would also be appreciated.
